
If you wear dentures, you’ve probably noticed that your lower denture doesn’t seem to stay put as well as your upper one. You’re not imagining it—lower dentures are naturally more difficult to keep stable.
Unlike upper dentures, which benefit from suction against the roof of your mouth, lower dentures have much less surface area to grip. Add in constant movement from your tongue, cheeks, and jaw, and it’s easy to see why they may slide or lift while you’re talking or eating.
Fortunately, a loose lower denture isn’t something you simply have to live with.
